Most Reliable Business Banking Providers (2026)
We ranked 15 business banking providers by real-world reliability over the last 90 days, using 39 status page incidents and our own around-the-clock uptime checks. When a business banking app goes down, you can't log in to check balances, approve payments or send payroll, and card declines can stop staff from buying what they need. A delayed transfer can mean a missed supplier payment, a late payroll run or fees on a bounced payment. Online-only banks have no branch to fall back on, so their app, card processing and payment rails are the business account.

Business Banking reliability at a glance
- Across the 7 ranked business banking providers, average 90-day uptime is 98.85%. Reliability scores range from 99.6 (Monzo Business) to 37.6 (Wise Business).
- Together they published 39 incidents in the last 90 days, 14 of them partial or major outages.
- The typical vendor takes 10h 41m to resolve an incident. Rho is fastest, at 45m on average.
- Tide reported the most incidents (11 in 90 days).
What to check before you choose a business bank account
- Check which components fail most often. Card authorisation and outgoing payment outages stop you paying staff and suppliers; a slow statement export doesn't.
- Look at how long payment delays last. A transfer stuck for a few hours is an annoyance, but one stuck overnight can make payroll late.
- Keep a backup way to pay: a second account or card at a different provider means one outage doesn't freeze your spending.
- Subscribe to the provider's status page and note its support channels, since an app outage can also block in-app chat.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most reliable business bank account?
Based on the last 90 days of data, Monzo Business is the most reliable business bank account we track, with a reliability score of 99.6/100 and 100% uptime.
How do you measure business bank account reliability?
We poll each vendor's public status page every few minutes, record every incident, and run our own uptime checks against each vendor's login and customer-facing pages. Uptime (40%), incident frequency (20%), average time to resolve (20%) and transparency (20%) combine into one score out of 100.
How often are these rankings updated?
Continuously. Status pages and uptime checks run every five minutes and scores are recalculated several times an hour.
Can vendors pay to rank higher?
No. Sponsored placements are clearly labelled, shown separately from the rankings and never change a vendor's score.
